Physical Survey

Performing aircraft physical surveys is a complex task as the survey can include such items as fixtures, fittings or component condition.

Part of a physical survey is an evaluation of the aircraft damage, often checked against a “Dent & Buckle” report detailing all known damage and providing details for you to evaluate against.

Each aircraft will have a guide to the structural evaluation such as the SRM or structural repair manual for Boeing aircraft and within the document we can find a definition of different damage types to use when assessing or considering your review.

Some repairs or existing damage is assessed and approved with the SRM and some additionally may fall outside of the acceptable limits requiring specific instruction from an OEM or Part 21 approved provider for example.
