Aircraft Lease Transition – Certified Status Lists
The certified status lists are very important documents as they provide information on much of the aircraft and essentially, they directly relate to its compliance and airworthiness also.
Status lists will give an oversight for the aircraft and can be used to evidence that the aircraft is compliant for both airworthiness requirements, but also lease requirements which can be more restrictive – remember that just because an aircraft is airworthy does not mean it is compliant for lease return conditions in the contract.
Some of the lists that we might consider for example will typically contain some of the following items:
Time in service – Details of the time in service for the aircraft for the airframe, engines, APU and landing gear.
Airworthiness Directives – Status of AD’s accomplished in full or part
Service Bulletins – Status of SB’s accomplished in full or part
Supplemental Type Certificates – Any supplemental type certificates accomplished on the aircraft including those deactivated or removed.
Life Limited Parts – Engine – Details of the parts and their remaining life
Life Limited Parts – Landing Gear – Details of the parts and their remaining life
Life Limited Parts – APU (if applicable) – Details of the parts and their remaining life
Hard Time Parts – Details of the parts and their remaining life / fitment details
Loose Items / Equipment – Typically this will be the current customers setup such as the emergency equipment and headsets for example
Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMR) – Where applicable (Airbus) current status of these tasks
Airworthiness Limitation Items (ALI) – where applicable (Airbus) current status of these tasks.
Repair Status – Damage map for the aircraft locating all repairs and damages along with the supporting references which will refer to the dirty fingerprints for them
Equipment Fitment List – all serialised items fitted to the aircraft.
The above is a brief summary of some of the lists and each list will be considered; the information then within has to be broken down and further evidence sought such as for the life limited parts, where the records for that part will be researched back to its birch so that the current status can be validated.
